    Accommodation
There are several accommodation options available for students – three dormitories, private housing possibilities, and when it comes to shorter stay, a hotel is an option. The hotel offer varies according to rank and price. The price per night in a hotel is between 25 and 100 euros. The dormitory prices (including meals) vary between 50 and 70 euros per month. The cost for renting a room in the private sector together with the overhead expenses is around 125 EUR per month.

Most of the international students will have to organize accommodation on their own, i.e. look for private rental accommodation. Rents vary greatly according to location, room size, facility etc. Overhead expenses are sometimes included in the price, and most often are paid by the consumer. Payment is usually expected at the beginning of the month, and rarely some landlords request payment for several months in advance.
    Student`s life
    Shtip city
In the Republic of Macedonia (called Northern Macedonia in 2019), the climate is cold in winter and hot in summer. The continentality of the climate is due to the fact that the country has no outlet to the sea, and in addition, it is separated from the Adriatic and the Aegean Sea by mountain ranges.
The major cities are located at an altitude higher than sea level, often in valleys, which enhance the cold in winter (because cold air stagnation on the ground) as well as the summer heat. The Balkan Peninsula is exposed to cold waves from the north or east, and Macedonia is no exception. The northwest wind that blows in the Vardar river valley is called Vardarec, an equivalent to the Bora, maybe a little less violent.
In mountainous areas, in particular, the Shar mountains in the north-west and the Baba mountains in the south-west, both exceeding 2,500 meters (8,200 feet), the climate is naturally colder, with heavy snowfalls in winter and afternoon thunderstorms in summer. In general, at a given altitude, the temperatures in winter are similar to those of the Alps.
